11/15/08 Welcome to Time of Prophets. Currently there is an activity check in progress from 11/15 to 11/30. Everyone MUST post there. Anyone that has not yet made a character has until the 30th to do so. We are in need of males so everyone refrain from making females right away. Alpha positions are still open to anyone interested, PM me for specifics for alphas. Due to past alphas, needs for an alpha bio are a bit stricter now.

Temperatures are steadily beginning to drop. Chilly winds comb through the woodlands of the Avalon, frost nipping at the tundra while chilly coastal winds batter the Druids. To the south, Darkrais are experiencing a period of relief from severe southern heats before winter sets in. In the far north caribou are on the move, in the Avalon forests the deer have finished their summer rut and are preparing for winter. Cold rains cycle through in the early mornings leaving dense fogs to roll in from the coasts. Standing on the mainland, the fog can grow so dense you can't see the island of the Druids.

Dustin looked into his eyes when he asked her if he could stay. " Well Kohl....we have plenty of room, and you seem like a good wolf." She looked him over again. " I will have to say yes." She smiled. " Is there any special position you would like?" She really liked the male, well what she knew about him at least.
Once again she felt her mind drift back to her mate. 'Stop it! There's nothing you can do about it. He's dead that is all there is. I need to move to the future.' Her eyes seemed to glaze over for a moment and she felt as if she was the only one alive, she was alone in the world for a moment.
Dustin lay down, also letting her gaurd down. Kohl seemed nice enough, she trusted him not to hurt her. She smiled at remebrance of her brother..........oh what was his name? Well it didn't matter. He was a lot like Kohl, kind, muscular, handsome and a good guy. Until he got a taste of the bad side, and the pack became a living nightmare for her. He used to be sweet and kind, until that horrid day.
She shivered, a coldness had swept over her. She couldn't explain it. Just all of a sudden she got cold. Not even her thick fur could keep her warm. Dustin whimpered softly, she felt as if there was a cold stone in her stomach. Her mind fogged over for a moment all that she was left with were those gruesome memories. Where was she? Who was this male she was with?
Dustin shook her head and suddenly remembered everything, she was the Alphess of Avalon and she was with Kohl. The handsome brute who she had met a few hours ago.

F.alling in and out of a light doze, Kiki roused herself several hours after ditching her newly named alphess. She felt a bit guilty about being so snide, it really wasn't like her but still she was easily distracted and impatient. With a sigh the coal colored femme blinked her silver eyes open and looked around the Jewelheart Cavern. Well, at least Dustin hadn't come tracking after her and dragged her bodily from the cave with an order to hunt. That would have been a mess. Standing up and stretching, Kiki slithered out from the narrow entrance to the caves into the evening dusk. Her coat glimmered dully in the gloom as she began her trek toward the forest, loosely following Dustin's now-stale scent trail.
T.he small femmora paused behind a thicket of hazel, black ears pricking. She heard Dustin speaking to someone. With a shrug, Kiki wrote it off as another packmate but when the breeze brought the scent to her, she froze. It was an unfamiliar male. Turning her silver gaze toward the source, her tail twitched as she debated. Surely Dustin could take care of herself and she didn't smell blood but still...her curiosity was rearing like a snake ready to strike. Frowning to herself, Kiki debated. She shouldn't sneak around the alphess and a guest but she wanted to.
G.iving in to her all too familiar curiosity urges, Kiki dropped low to the ground and crept forward, hiding behind several thick bushes. Peering out from under the lower branches the fae gazed at the scene with her unusual silver eyes of dark charcoal and sterling. Her pelt blended with the gathering shadows of dusk and the winds were calm so hopefully she wouldn't be discovered too easily. She really wasn't sure if she wanted to say she was sorry to Dustin just yet but....There was a male to investigate and she planned on investigating. Besides, somebody had to keep the alphess safe considering she seemed to be a total stranger to the dangers of Avalon.

" Well Kohl....we have plenty of room, and you seem like a good wolf. I will have to say yes. She smiled. Is there any special position you would like? "
Listening to her words intently, Kohl nodded breifly when Dusting said that he was allowed to stay; his heart swelled. He was being accepted, a wolf was finally accepting him and it was official, she even asked what rank he wanted! Even though he was asked, he couldn't just take a position. If there was anything he noticed by observing the pack he was not allowed to be in it was that you earned your rank, you weren't given it.
So nice, so generous.
All of what he saw he liked, but still looks weren't everything and to be honest, the only reason he felt anything was because she looked too much like her, the wolf he was unable to love- it was forbidden. It was a sin and everyone viewed it as one no matter their alliance. No one could learn about his secret obssesion, the obsession he was trying to break away from, to forget about. She was a drug to him. He was living only for her and each day night while those around him slept he would cast out his mind and try to find her while she dreamed. Every step he took was full of the intent to find her... No, no, no! Stop it, stop it. She is a beautiful, smart, agile wolf who is only destined for great things, not failure. She's thriving. I know it.
"No," His tone was flat but still thick with accent. "I am grateful that I may be a pack member Dustin, truly I am. However, I cannot just "take" a position. I must earn my place, just like everyone else. You are the alpha, you should judge me, decide where I belong there and I will take it with no question's asked." He said, but added, "Or, maybe just a few." Suddenly, she seemed to space out, just like he used to do, as if she was no longer in this world but in a world only she knew. Dark ears twitched as she whimpered and his good natured side broke, he couldn't see anyone depressed.
As elegantly as a wolf of his stature could move he guided his paws towards her. For a moment he just looked at her but than he bent down and nudged her lightly with his muzzle before stepping away. She wasn't alone, he could guess how she felt. Dark eyes gazed around and his eyes fell on a brush. Years as an exile had taught him how to find things that showed up that weren't there before. Someone was there but he said nothing about it, but his golden black eyes couldn't help but keep looking over. "You aren't alone, Dustin."

Dustin nodded. " You are right, I will choose a position for you, for now it will be temporary." She thought a moment longer. " How would you like to be the lead hunter, or perhaps soldier?" She had narrowed it down to two things, something she thought he might be good at.
Under the full moon her pelt seemed to be glowing. When he nudged her she felt a something she had only felt once before. When she was with Amoraq, her old mate. She listened to Kohl's words. 'You aren't alone, Dustin.' She nodded and stood back up. Following his gaze she growled. Why did Kiki have to watch her?
Sighing she called out. " Kiki, come out. I know you are there." Dustin looked at Kohl for a moment. Under her breath she said these words. " You are about to meet your pack member, Kiki." She straightened up and lifted her tail. Let's hope Kiki listened to her.
The sun was ever so slowly rising from the horizon. She looked at the moon, now heading down, out of sight. She had been out all night, yet she didn't feel the least bit tired. Dustin swished her tail while still keeping it up. The suns rays carried little warmth. She forecasted that may be a cold day.
Inside she was fighting a ongoing war. She faught with herself constantly, debating on what to do. She had two sides, One was strong and intelligent, confident. The other was weak and afraid, in denial.
Noting the scent on the wind, she remembered that she had killed a fawn. Dustin felt hunger naw at her stomach. She would eat more later, once she had alked to Kiki, and assigned Kohl a temporary rank.

D.rat, caught, Kiki thought with a hefty sigh. The charcoal fae slipped out from under the bushes, the fronds stroking her back as she revealed herself before the alphess and the large dark-furred male. Stepping into a patch of moonlight the fae let the silver light up her grey-black fur, light flashing in her eyes as she turned her visage toward Kohl. Her tail hung low, flicking lightly as she inspected the newcomer. Well, he looked big enough to be a blood-thirsty monster but then again, all males were big compared to Kiki so she wasn't one to judge. Not only that but looks didn't depict the personality lurking inside a wolf, it just didn't work like that. Sometimes genetics were cruel like they had been in making Kiki a forsaken runt her parents hadn't left alone until she ran away.
F.licking her black ears toward Dustin, Kiki smirked lightly. "Ah ya caught me. Can't seem to hide form you can I Dusty?" she teased in a friendly way, her silver eyes lighting up. She wanted to be more friendly instead of grumpy and disappointed like she had been when she'd first met Dustin. Turning back to the male, Kiki flicked her ears in mild interest. "Hi, I'm Kiki."
F.olding her hind legs under her, Kiki rocked back on her haunches in a sitting position. She was half expecting him to call her fox-face or runt, one of the annoying nicknames her siblings had once given her. She had a narrow muzzle and if you looked her dead-on in the eye Kiki was well aware she almost looked like an overgrown fox. Hopefully he either wouldn't notice or wouldn't comment on either her appearance or her small, slender build. In the moonlight her eyes stood out against her dark fur like stars in the night sky, flickering with her gaze as she glanced from Dustin to Kohl.

"Ah ya caught me. Can't seem to hide form you can I Dusty?”
Am extremely slender and famine wolf emerged from the bushes, stopping in the moonlight. Mysterious and cold eyes danced in awe and in a secret desire but for the wrong wolf. Such an elegantly shinning black pelt and pale eyes that looked like ice. Kohl was so caught up in himself; all he could see was Kiki and nothing else. His heart pounded against his hard chest, his tail no longer moving, he staggered forward, almost falling over himself.
She’s come back! I’ve found her, and she came to me! My sister, she came to me. Shadow does know I exist, they must have told her. All this time observing her from afar: always staring into her pale fog eyes, always wishing secretly to be with you.
Before he could speak Shadow’s name the female spoke first.
“Hi, I'm Kiki."
Kiki? No- her name can’t be Kiki!! No, she’s lying!
He was fighting an internal struggle. How could this female who resembled his sister in every way from her slender build, to her small beautiful body, to the pale eyes… How? How, it didn’t make sense to him. Inside he was yelling at himself, yelling how could he be so stupid, so naïve and foolish, jumping to conclusions to quickly. Eyelids closed, shielding his eyes from the female who reminded him of his sister even more than Dustin had.
Lowering his large cranium he nodded respectfully to Kiki, a quirky smile on his lips that wouldn’t go away. “Please to meet you- Kiki.” He said in his deep voice, his eyes opening to stare at her face. Just because they looked the same didn’t mean they would have the same personality. He needed something to get his mind out of the gutter and hold back his other half, his side that he locked away around others. “Dustin,” he finally said looking at her, “I shall take a warrior position.” Yes, a warrior position suited the skilled fighter and killer quite well though he tried to forget about that. For now, they were safe from his split personality, he would guard himself well while at the same time protecting them from both inside and outside forces.
“Either of you hear of a female named Eärlindë Séregon?” He just had to ask.

Looking at Kiki she smiled. Dusty. That is what Amoraq would call her. So Kohl would be the head warrior, now that that was settled. She pricked her ears at the name. Eärlindë Séregon. She hadn't heard of a wolf with that name. " Sorry Kohl, no I haven't. Why do you wish to know?" If he was looking for her maybe she could help.
Dustin let her tail droop a little so it was in the middle. She looked around at the forest. It looked almost silver in the moonlight. She smiled, she felt most at home at night. She pricked her ears at the sound of a distant coyote pack howling. She lifted her head to the sky letting them know that there were three wolves here. When she had run away she befriended a young coyote. Weird, I know.
She looked back at the others, hoping they didn't think she was to crazy. She just was like that. A small voice in the back of her head growled. 'You are so stupid, why would you howl to coyotes?''Shut up Aleria.''No, make me.' Dustin growled under her breath. Aleria, her little 'friend'.

A.t the sound of the name, Kiki pricked her ears curiously. It sounded oddly familiar, like something the other wolves had spoken of at some point or another. Frowning slightly, Kiki looked up at the moon, rifling through the snips of conversation she'd heard from other wolves. The name had something to do with dark...dark....Kiki narrowed her eyes in concentration. The name was someone important but...A light went on and a growl rippled from Kiki's chest as she glared toward Kohl. "I think I heard others speaking that name but in whispers" she barked sourly. "It's the Darkrai's new alphess. They live like rats in the southern land beyond here and I've heard elders say they only fear the Druids and their Council."
F.earing the Council of Stars however wasn't much to say. Every pack respected them, or at least they were supposed to. Each member of the Council was said to be a master of their power but since Kiki had never seen them, she didn't really know. All she knew was that the Darkrai Pack was full of sly, sneaky, shadow wolves that were dishonest on their best day. Dislike her parents though she might, Kiki still remembered the scary stories they'd once told her and her siblings to scare them back into the den when the sun went down. Needless to say it had worked very effectivly until Kiki's anger at her parents had overpowered her fear of the Darkrai's coming in the shadows and snatching her away.
I.t was only recently that some loner had mentioned in passing that the Darkrai's had a new alphess. The only thought that had gone through Kiki's mind at the time had been that the new leader probably meant nothing but trouble but she hadn't dwelled on it at the time, too focused on pestering a badger sett for lack of anything better to do.
"I. wouldn't go messing with them if I were you" she warned, looking wearily at the new male. "They're very dangerous, at least, that's what I've heard."

"I think I heard others speaking that name but in whispers It's the Darkrai's new alphess. They live like rats in the southern land beyond here and I've heard elders say they only fear the Druids and their Council."
Kohl listened in silence, his body never moving; only his ears twitched when she growled. His mind was reeling with words he didn't understand. Druids and the Council, who where they? Before he could ask, she spoke again.
"I. wouldn't go messing with them if I were you. They're very dangerous, at least, that's what I've heard."
New alphess, is Shadow their new alphess? Why though, why would she lead a dark, an evil, despicable, sly and lowly band of wolves? Is this some side of her she discovered within herself here, not surrounded by wonderful, happy wolves and an almost-perfect land? No- no I can't accept that!
His head dropped low, his eyes closing before looking at Kiki, fully aware now that both she and Dustin were not his sister, that they were both completely separate people. From deep within a deep rumbled growled started as he thought for a moment, deciding whether or not to just leave and go after her but, he decided not too. He, would stay here. "Thank you, Kiki." he finally said, "But, can either of you tell me what the "Council" is. I do not know for I am not from here."
Although you couldn't see it, all his energy and hoped had been drained, his body literally fell to the ground and he laid still. Why was it that as soon as he knew her to be dark, he lost most interest in her but, a new flame was beginning to kindle; he picture his dark little sister and shivered. Maybe, he would be able to find her dreams tonight.

Dustin watched Kohl, the interest spark and fade in his eyes. She smiled, and stood up.
"But, can either of you tell me what the "Council" is. I do not know for I am not from here."
"I can. They are wolves that rule over the Druid pack. They stand at the top of an ancient hierarchy. They watch over the Druid Pack and the feeble fights going on between the other pack." Dustin thought hard for a moment. " Well that is all I can tell you."
She licked her chest fur quickly. She was beginning to get hungry. " Why don't we go and eat?" She suggested. 'Why don't we go and eat?' Dustin growled under her breath. ' Aleria, leave me alone.''You are the Alpha of the pack, you make the decisions.'
Dustin realized she had a point, oh well to late to take it back. She thanked Aleria softly and looked back at the others. Her stomach growled again, this time louder. She shrugged her shoulders and walked over to the kill. It wasn't that warm any more, but it was still good. If the others didn't want to eat they didn't have to.

"N.obody really knows a lot about the Council of Stars" Kiki barked as Dustin finished her explaination. Honestly what Dustin had told Kohl was about all anybody knew about the Council and then there were others like Kohl that had no idea what the Council was at all. In her rather short lifetime Kiki had only ever heard stories about the Council and had been lucky enough to not have to go to them. Usually wolves only went to the Council in times of war or sometimes traitors were taken there for impartial judgment if the pack couldn't decide how a traitor should be punished, whether by death or simply exile. More often then not according to stories, going before the Council was a scary and desperate matter that Kiki hoped she never had to witness.
T.he coal-canvased fae swivled her ears toward the newly named alphess as she spoke of hunting. Kiki's stomach felt empty from a day of lazing about in the caverns but she wasn't always a good pack hunter. Shifting her weight a little, Kiki debated whether she wanted to hunt with the alphess or head off on her own again. It was tempting to try and head a little farther north toward the low foothills that led to the border between Avalon and the Icis but knew Dustin would probably shoot that down in half a heartbeat. Thumping her ashy tail once or twice, the fae stood up and gave her silver-grey fur a brisk shake making the moonlight shimmer and ripple down her slight frame.
"I. think I'm going to go toward the Willow Hollow and sniff around, make sure no loners are making themselves at home. I'll hunt along the way."
K.iki turned her gradiant gaze toward Dustin, ears swerved forward. The elders would chew her ears if she didn't respectfully wait for permission since Dustin was the alphess. Usually she'd just go off regardless but since she was in front of a new packmate and a male nonetheless she figured she may as well set a good example even if Kohl didn't seem like the type that needed any sort of example. Really Kiki wasn't planning to head to the Willow Hollow. Talk of the Druids had tempted her curiosity and she was fighting the urge to go to the bridge humans had built that connected the Druid Island to the mainland. There was no harm in simply sniffing around right?
